Fantastic GCSE results! Congratulations to all GCSE students for their fantastic set of results!

42% of pupils scored grades 7, 8 and 9 in the new 9-1 GCSEs structure and 11% of the grades were the top grade 9.

David Hardern, scored a clean sweep of 9, 8 and A* grades including Further Maths and will study Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Geography in the Sixth Form.

Robbie Fyfe, 16, received seven grade 9s, two 8s and two A* grades across all his subjects including A* in Further Maths GCSE. Robbie is looking forward to continuing his studies at Durham School; he wants to be a pilot and will study Maths, Latin, Geography and French at A level.

Headmaster Kieran McLaughlin said about the achievements, “These are tremendous results for the school especially with the new grading structure.

“The students and teachers have worked incredibly hard and I’m pleased that students can now progress to the subjects they had chosen to study at A Level.”
