This year to mark Remembrance Day, we held a very special service in the School Chapel on Sunday 11 November. We invited pupils, staff, ODs and friends of the School to attend, to remember those who fell in WWI. In particular, we remembered the 119 ODs (Old Dunelmians) and OBs (Old Bowites) who died and we did so with the help of 119 of our current pupils, who lined Chapel steps with photographs of each former pupil who died serving our country.
The children at Bow School also got involved, having their own Remembrance Assembly on Friday. Straight after, the children were given a Poppy that they made in Art, out of a plastic bottle for their ‘Walk of Remembrance’ where they planted the poppies up the Bow driveway. Some of the poppies had the names of the men who lost their lives in the war that went to Bow as a young boy.
Both were incredibly moving and special events. Thank you very much to all involved.
