A Level Results 2012
55% A*-B Grades
On Thursday 16th August our A level results were published and we were delighted that nearly all students gained their first choice of university and course. You may have read about the drop in A* and A grades nationally which had been reported in the media. We have certainly seen a number of results which are a grade below expectations, but in almost all cases I am pleased to say this has not affected university entrance. Despite this the results have been very good, with 55% A*-B grades (97% A* - E Grades). I congratulate all students and staff on these results which are the culmination of two years of hard work.
"Our son was delighted with the level of learning support he received. His teachers encouraged him not to use his dyslexia as an excuse for under-achieving but equally gave him extra time to complete his work when necessary. Whilst at Durham School our son enjoyed numerous extra-curricular activities - rugby, cricket, ski trip, camping at Kielder, school drama productions, walking Bonnie (the former Housemasters family's dog) and of course, supporting the 1st XV at Twickenham!
