Sixth Form Open Event
Our Sixth Form Acquaint Event 2010 will be held on Wednesday 3 November - the exact time of the event has yet to be decided. As soon as we are able to, we will post this information on this page of the website.
This event is intended to give those who are interested in joining us in the Sixth Form a special opportunity to meet the people they would most like to talk to before making their decision: the Headmaster, Deputy Head (Curriculum), Head of Sixth Form, teachers, current Sixth-formers and current Year 11 students, as well as others who are also contemplating spending their Sixth Form years at Durham School.
In particular, you will have the opportunity to talk to the Heads of Department of the subjects you are most interested in and to students who are already studying those subjects at Sixth Form level. You will also be able to tour the school and visit one of the Houses.
Light refreshments will be served and those who need to stay overnight or who are interested in boarding will be able to spend the night here.
It goes without saying that we would encourage anyone contemplating joining Durham School in The Sixth Form to request a Taster Day (which could be overnight for those interested in boarding). However, we feel that this might be easier for you to arrange on an individual basis (or together with a friend) at a time that suits you and fits in with your academic studies.
If you are interested in taking part in our Sixth Form Open Event this year or would like to know more about the event, you can either telephone us on 0191 386 4783 (Extension 2268) and ask for Mrs Diane Woodlands or you can complete the form below and send it to us and we will get back to you as quickly as we can.

Testimonials
"The House system is ideal. It helps new pupils to make friends easily and engenders a great team spirit. With experienced and approachable House staff, the pupils always have a familiar and friendly face to turn to should they need help, advice and assistance. The Head Boy/Girl of each House is another person that the pupils can turn to at any time. "
