Overseas Students
Durham School welcomes pupils of all ages from overseas and we greatly value the richness and the diversity that they bring to our community. Each year a number of pupils from overseas join the School, the majority of whom come from Hong Kong, mainland China and Germany, although we are always delighted to hear from applicants from any overseas country.
Living and learning in a completely different country (often with major cultural differences to cope with as well) can be a daunting experience but we generally find that our overseas pupils settle quickly into their new life. They are helped in this by the friendliness of the community as a whole (and of the boarding Houses in particular), by the helpfulness of our boarding staff and by the support of our excellent English as a Second Language Department whose input goes well beyond the mere teaching of English.

Testimonials
"Jon-Ross has attended Durham School since he was 11 years old. He really enjoys the school, both on the academic side and all the activities. He has gained confidence and a respect for himself and others. His academic achievement has improved in all areas, which has given him the confidence to reach for the sky. I can only say that Jon-Ross loves Durham school and enjoys it completely and when you enjoy something learning comes easy.
