Leavers' Chapel Service

Leavers' Chapel Service

(04 July 2010)

Chapel was packed for the last service of the school year, always an emotional one. In the course of the service all Upper Sixth leavers received an engraved glass and the Chapel Choir sang "Kyrie" from Haydn's Nelson Mass.

The lessons were read by Phil Anderson and Tom Newbould, and prayers were led by Maxine Brewster, Byung Choi, Fraser Jackson and Rachael Parker - all of whom were School Monitors for 2009-2010. The collection, which will be sent to a Unicef appeal for displaced children in disturbed areas of the world, raised £773-10. Many thanks to all for your generosity.

We would like to extend our very best wishes to all pupils who are leaving Durham School this term and thank you for your immense contribution to the life of the School. The picture shows the Upper Sixth leavers at a special dinner held in their honour in June.

Testimonials

"An excellent atmosphere between pupils and staff with a really good House system, great teaching and a fantastic pastoral side. I thoroughly enjoyed attending Durham School and am very sad to leave."
