School to welcome Peruvian football team
(23 June 2009)
A while ago the members of the school were involved in raising money to help to educate a young Peruvian by the name of Dino. As well as helping Dino, we in fact were able to help several other young people from Peru, and in September they are visiting the UK to thank those who have been helping them. On Tuesday 15 September a group of 10 boys aged 16-18 and 4 adults from Iquitos in Peru will be coming to spend a day at the school. As well as joining in lessons, they will be having lunch with us, playing a game of football (they are themselves a football team called Juventud Bellavista) and they want to see something of Durham. It will be a great opportunity for us to find out something about how the native tribespeople in the Amazon Basin live their lives, and for them to see how we live.

Testimonials
"An excellent atmosphere between pupils and staff with a really good House system, great teaching and a fantastic pastoral side. I thoroughly enjoyed attending Durham School and am very sad to leave."
