A passport to the world of reading!
(21 December 2006)
Pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9 at Durham School have been issued with Reading Passports which will become a record of their literary travels around the world. The idea, which was introduced by Head of English, Mr Kime, aims to encourage pupils to develop their reading and thinking skills, with set reading targets reaping rewards for the pupils. For each book read, a pupil will receive a special merit called a Laud. Any pupil, who, by the end of Year 9, has read 18 books will receive a Certificate of Achievement.next event

Testimonials
"An excellent atmosphere between pupils and staff with a really good House system, great teaching and a fantastic pastoral side. I thoroughly enjoyed attending Durham School and am very sad to leave."
