Durham School Fees
Registration
A registration fee of £50.00 is payable when the Registration Form is returned. Cheques should be made payable to "Durham School". The registration fee is not returnable and its payment does not necessarily imply that a vacancy will be available.
Deposit
A deposit becomes payable when a definite place is accepted or if you wish to reserve a place for your child. This deposit is £250 for a day pupil, £450 for a boarder living within the EC and a full term's fees for a boarder living outside the EC. The deposit will be refunded at the end of a pupil's time at the School or immediately should the pupil fail to meet the entry requirements.
Notice
A full term's notice is required when a pupil leaves the school, or when he/she changes status from day to boarding or vice versa or when a place once accepted or reserved is cancelled.
Fees
The fee charged represents an annual fee, which is normally divided into three termly sums payable in advance and due by the first day of each term. Alternatively the fee can be paid in 10 monthly instalments by variable direct debit. The Senior School fees for the academic year 2009-10 are as follows:

Sibling Discounts
When two or more brothers and sisters are in the School (including Bow, our Junior School) at the same time, a reduction of 10% is made in the fee charged for the second child and any subsequent children. If, by descending age, the third child (or any subsequent child) is also a pupil at the Senior School, a higher 20% discount will apply to this child.
Services Discounts
Important changes to the discount for children from families of services personnel are to be introduced for September 2009. Testimonials
"Our son is delighted with the level of learning support he receives. His teachers have encouraged him not to use his dyslexia as an excuse for under-achieving but equally give him extra time to complete his work when necessary. Since joining the school, our son has enjoyed numerous extra-curricular activities - rugby, cricket, ski trip, camping at Kielder, school drama productions, walking Bonnie (the Housemaster’s family's dog) and of course, supporting the 1st XV at Twickenham!
