Swimming at Durham School
Swimming takes place throughout the year in our own heated and recently refurbished 25-meter indoor swimming pool and is open to all ages and abilities. Swimming is a games option on Wednesdays and Fridays, with extra sessions made available for team members, as required. Galas are held against other independent schools (including Barnard Castle, Ampleforth, Sedbergh and Kings Tynemouth) and each year we send a team of swimmers to the Bath Cup and Otter Medley, an invitation National Relay Championship help in London.
Useful Links
We are very fortunate to have our own recently refurbished 25 meter indoor pool and swimming is a major sport at Durham School. All pupils, especially the school’s swimming team, spend a lot of time in the pool as part of their Physical Education programme. Competing on a tough local circuit, we also take a team to the Bath and Otter Cup events held in London every year.

Testimonials
"Our son was awarded an academic and a music scholarship. He joined in Year 7 in September 2006 and, after only two weeks, we noticed that his confidence and spirits were lifted. The staff and pupils made him feel very welcome."
