Swimming at Durham School
Swimming takes place throughout the year in our own heated and recently refurbished indoor swimming pool and is open to all ages and abilities. Swimming is a games option, with extra sessions made available for team members, as required. Galas are held against other independent schools (including Barnard Castle, Ampleforth, Sedbergh and Kings Tynemouth) and each year we send a team of swimmers to the Bath Cup and Otter Medley, an invitation National Relay Championship help in London.

We are very fortunate to have our own recently refurbished 25 meter indoor pool and swimming is a major sport at Durham School. All pupils, especially the school’s swimming team, spend a lot of time in the pool as part of their Physical Education programme. Competing on a tough local circuit, we also take a team to the Bath and Otter Cup events held in London every year.

Testimonials
"Pimlico is a place of comfort and acceptance where any girl who is upset will always have the other girls caring for her. Participating in the many events as a House is fantastic. Every girl is involved in the preparation towards them, so we all work together as a team and nobody is ever left out. There are ten other girls with me in the year group and we all get on extremely well as a year group with the various personalities joining together nicely. I am very excited about this coming year when we will join together as a team to help run Pimlico.
