French
French is the first foreign language at Durham School and is a compulsory subject for all pupils up to the end of Year 11. It is taught in mixed-ability sets in Years 7 & 8 but setted from Year 9 onwards. French is offered as an option for both AS and A2 and each year it is chosen by a number of pupils, principally from Set 1 but also occasionally from Set 2. There is an annual Summer Term trip to Northern France for Year 9 pupils.

Testimonials
"Congratulations on a superb evening at The Sage Gateshead. I have been involved in several House Music competitions but have never seen such a high standard as was achieved by your pupils. I also thought that the support your boys and girls gave each other was terrific."
