School

School House, affectionately known as “Bungites” after a previous Headmaster whose nickname was “Bung”, is one of the three boys’ Houses at Durham School. Situated right in the heart of the School in the main school building, one of the oldest parts of the School, it currently caters for approximately 100 day boys. The House commands some spectacular views over the main school sports ground (called The Playground).

There is a resident Housemaster in overall charge of the House, a Junior Housemaster who is in charge of the pastoral care of the boys in Years 7 and 8 and an Assistant Housemaster in charge of Years 10 and 11.
