Cricket at Durham School
Cricket at Durham School is the major boys' sport in the Summer Term.
Fixtures against other schools (1st, 2nd, U15, U14A & B and U13A & B, U13 A,B,C&D, U12 A&B) take place every Saturday and often during the week - examinations and academic work permitting!
The School would consider itself as one of the top cricketing schools in the North of England. Our 1st XI plays regular fixtures against men's sides, for example the MCC and Durham Pilgrims. All teams play Durham County Cricket Club as part of a regular fixture and we consider it a sign of our quality that they choose to play us.
Many pupils represent the county at various levels, with the top players going on to represent England Schools and eventually to play professional cricket.
The School has its own residential professional cricket coach - who also runs individual development programmes for the top players throughout the winter. There are 4 cricket sessions per week throughout the Summer Term. The School has 5 indoor nets and 4 external nets.

Testimonials
"The pupils are spoilt for choice. There are not enough hours in the day for my son to do all the extra-curricular activities that he would like to be involved in. The training and discipline my son has received in sport has been outstanding. His physical fitness has reached new heights. The support of the teachers/coaches is unrivalled. "
