On 22 March, 5 RAF Cadets travelled to RAF Leeming to have an Air Experience Flight. It is our aim to allow cadets to fly at least once a year, but for some it was their second experience.
We arrived at RAF Leeming late morning on a clear, sunny and more importantly, a still day. The cadets were introduced to the duty officer and after a thorough safety briefing and parachute drill the cadets were ready to take to the air.
Sqn Ldr Johnston took all five cadets up in a two seater light aircraft for a 40 minute flight. Each cadet was allowed to take control of the aircraft and perform a number of aerobatic maneuvers including "loops" and "barrel rolls"! The smiles on landing said it all, a brilliant day and an amazing experience for the RAF cadets.
We are always looking for new members so please contact Miss Buist or Mr Sturt if you are interested in joining the CCF.
