Students take part in the Chemistry Olympiad

Students take part in the Chemistry Olympiad 10 of the highest achieving 6th form Chemistry students from both year 12 and year 13 have completed the RSC Chemistry Olympiad test this week.

It’s a gruelling 2 hour exam containing Chemistry at the highest level based on the students' chemical knowledge adapted to real-world Chemistry problems. The students have the opportunity to win certificates of Bronze, Silver or Gold.

If they are particularly successful they would get to the 2nd round which involves a long weekend hosted by the University of Cambridge. Up to 30 of the highest-scoring students from round one will experience lessons and demonstrations on new topics from respected academics, teachers and technicians, followed by theoretical and practical tests.
