10 of the highest achieving 6th form Chemistry students from both year 12 and year 13 have completed the RSC Chemistry Olympiad test this week.
It’s a gruelling 2 hour exam containing Chemistry at the highest level based on the students' chemical knowledge adapted to real-world Chemistry problems. The students have the opportunity to win certificates of Bronze, Silver or Gold.
If they are particularly successful they would get to the 2nd round which involves a long weekend hosted by the University of Cambridge. Up to 30 of the highest-scoring students from round one will experience lessons and demonstrations on new topics from respected academics, teachers and technicians, followed by theoretical and practical tests. Good luck to all students!
