92.2% of pupils scored A*-C grades.
Mr McLaughlin said about the achievements, “Against a national picture of uncertainty at GCSE, we are delighted with the efforts of our pupils this year. To have our highest ever pass rate at A*-C is a fantastic achievement and tribute to the hard work of pupils and staff.
For the first time this year our pupils took the challenging Further Maths GCSE; 5 of those pupils scored the top A^ grade (equivalent to an A**), putting them in the top few thousand mathematicians in the country. It’s great to see such exceptional achievement with our pupils.
“We saw great performances across the board and congratulate pupils and parents too for their support.”
The results follow a week after Durham School announced the second best A level results in the school’s history.
