"Summer dress" announced by Head of School (24 May 2010)
Friday 21 May saw an ancient tradition revived when Head of School Tom Newbould announced to his fellow pupils after the afternoon chapel service that the time had come for them to switch to "summer dress".

This good news came as a result of the exceptionally fine and warm weather over the past week (which all too often coincides with the start of the public examination period). In recent times the decision to relax the rules on dress has been strictly in the hands of the Headmaster.

However, current Head, Mr Martin George, himself a former pupil of the School, decided that this was one matter which the Head of School was perfectly capable of deciding and thereby restored an ancient tradition.

Summer dress still requires the pupils to follow strict guidelines on uniform and is not a free-for-all! Blazers no longer need to be worn and either shirt sleeves can be neatly rolled up or sleeveless shirts or blouses worn. Boys must continue to wear their ties. At all events, if the warm spell continues, all our pupils will be grateful for Tom's announcement on Friday - especially our examination candidates!

Testimonials

"Thank you for helping to transform our son from a shy and quite Badger into a confident "I'm ready for school" boy. The dedication, patience and support you gave to our son exceeded by far our expectations of you. You did an outstanding job and we will be forever grateful for the wonderful year he spent in the Badger Nursery. "
