Allison Curbishley guest of honour at Bow Prize-giving

(05 July 2010)

Guest of honour at Bow Speeches and Prize Giving on a hot afternoon on Friday 2 July was former Olympic 400-metre runner and Commonwealth Games Silver Medallist, Allison Curbishley.

After Mr Baird, Headmaster of Bow, had delivered his annual report, came the highlight of the afternoon - some well-chosen words of advice from our Guest of Honour. Allison entertained us all with recollections of her own school days and how she became a top-class athlete. Her words are bound to have inspired our youngsters, some of who were lucky enough to be able to receive their prizes from her as well.

Testimonials

"An excellent atmosphere between pupils and staff with a really good House system, great teaching and a fantastic pastoral side. I thoroughly enjoyed attending Durham School and am very sad to leave."
