"Moulin Rouge" Summer Ball 2010
(05 July 2010)
“Spectacular! Spectacular!”– and so it was! For one night only, the stage was set, the candles were lit, and the Playground was transformed into the "Moulin Rouge". Our special thanks go to the ladies of the Ball Committee (pictured).Reception drinks were served on the patio by the “Green Fairy” and accompanied by an accordion player, courtesy of Solomon Walker, OD. The School’s catering team led by Head Chef Debbie Bennett and Sharon Taylor excelled themselves in preparing and serving a meal that was second to none and one in fitting with the standard you would expect to find in a Parisian restaurant.
The entertainment, courtesy of “Foxx”, was excellent, there was not one inch of the dance floor that went unfilled all night. We hope to see them again soon, so don’t book up your diary boys, we will definitely have you back !!
Sadly, Lesley Silcock, Chair of the Ball Committee (pictured), steps down as Chairperson this year but has agreed to remain a “willing helper” for future years. The Committee and the School alike are pleased that they are not losing her depth of knowledge and experience in all matters ‘event-related’ but are sad to see her step down……her successor is yet to be announceD.
The School wishes to thank all the Committee members who contributed to making this night such a success and to all the pupils, parents, Friends, ODs and staff who attended the event itself, all 468 of them. We must look into hiring an even bigger marquee next year!

Testimonials
"When you join the school, you get a buddy who is there to help you around the House and she is just like a big sister. I found that I soon made friends with all the other girls in MacLeod and many of the Pimlico girls. So settling in was not as scary and hard as I thought it would be - it was actually quite fun!
