First Aid training
(28 June 2010)
Durham School's First Aid experts Mr Kim Jones and Mr Stuart Kime organised two courses this term – one for Durham School staff and an HSE-approved Emergency First Aid at Work course for staff at Durham’s Chorister School.First Aid training is regularly available to pupils at Durham School and for some years now has been available to them as an optional extra-curricular activity.
All those who completed the course gained the 16-hour (HSE approved) Emergency First Aid (Outdoors) qualification recognised by all the national governing bodies for mountaineering, climbing, kayaking and sailing. It is also a most useful qualification to possess for any staff leading field trips or school trips to any part of the world, as well as for games staff and those driving minibuses.
Any parents or friends of Durham School who might be interested in taking part in a future course should contact Mr Jones at k.jones@durhamschool.co.uk who will keep you informed when future courses will be running.

Testimonials
"When you join the school, you get a buddy who is there to help you around the House and she is just like a big sister. I found that I soon made friends with all the other girls in MacLeod and many of the Pimlico girls. So settling in was not as scary and hard as I thought it would be - it was actually quite fun!
