"Molly and The Pirates"
(27 June 2010)
A brilliant evening's entertainment was held at Bow on Thursday 17 June for an audience packed with parents, relatives and friends. All the children in Years 3 and 4 performed a musical, 'Molly and the Pirates', and every child put their heart and soul into the performance. The lead roles were taken by Dominic Gaines (Captain Blackbeard), Carmen Orr (Molly, Captain Blackbeard's wife) and Jennifer Wilson (the chief of a tropical island) and all three delivered their lines with great assurance. The remainder of Year 4 took the role of pirates aboard Captain Blackbeard's pirate ship, while the islanders were played by Year 3.
Molly has decided that something just had to be done about the state of her husband's pirate ship, so has joined the pirates on their latest voyage. The pirates are being forced to clean the pirate ship from top to bottom - and not surprisingly they are not too happy about this. We join the ship on Molly's birthday and she declares that she is hoping for a gift of diamonds - but Blackbeard points out that no treasure has been found since Molly came on board and that some say 'women on board bring bad luck'. When the ship sails close to a tropical island, the pirates are able to help the islanders and in return Molly gets the diamonds she wished for.
With colourful costumes, dances and several catchy songs, the performance of 'Molly and the Pirates' was a memorable and energetic display of talent and enthusiasm.
