A Head-Start for Help For Heroes!

A Head-Start for Help For Heroes!

(08 April 2010)

Mr Martin George, the Headmaster of Durham School will be combining his love of history and politics to support his favourite cause ‘Help for Heroes’ by running 83 miles along Hadrian’s Wall.

Martin has already raised over £4000 and money is still coming in, along with offers to run alongside him on stretches of the wall! The run starts at 10 am on Wednesday 14 April from Bowness-on-Solway and aims to finish at 3pm on Friday 16 April at Tynemouth Long Sands Café.

So if you want to know more about the work of ‘Help for Heroes’, the history of Hadrian’s Wall or to discuss the forthcoming General Election on May 6, then why not run a while with Martin and support a great cause at the same time.

Testimonials

"When you join the school, you get a buddy who is there to help you around the House and she is just like a big sister. I found that I soon made friends with all the other girls in MacLeod and many of the Pimlico girls. So settling in was not as scary and hard as I thought it would be - it was actually quite fun! "
Emily Phillips (MacLeod, Year 9)
