Drama at Bow

Several plays are presented each year, from informal sketches (usually written by the pupils to provide an interval at musical concerts) to major whole-school productions. The Pre-prep Nativity Musical is the highlight of the Christmas term, with seats much sought after! The major production takes place during the summer term and often takes place in the Luce Theatre at the Senior School. Recent productions include The Emperor’s New Clothes and 1605 and All That.

Speech and Drama

The public performance of a variety of prose and poetry under competitive pressure plays a major part in life at Bow, particularly for the younger pupils in Years 3, 4 and 5. Each October we enter a number of pupils for the Guildhall School of Music and Drama Examinations and have been delighted as every single pupil this year has achieved at least a pass in the various categories.

Testimonials

"An excellent atmosphere between pupils and staff with a really good House system, great teaching and a fantastic pastoral side. I thoroughly enjoyed attending Durham School and am very sad to leave."
